This Saturday I have the afternoon to myself. Aside from the regular gym going/laundry doing and other chore-like activities that usually occupy my weekends, I decided I needed new project.
I have had a blast decorating our apartment over the past few months - a little Ikea furniture here, a few extra plants there - but there are still bits and pieces left to be done. The dining room/desk area needs some serious love and the living room could use a blanket (of course there’s more, but I’ll spare you).
I have seen some awesome posts on Pinterest featuring chevron quilts and I’ve going back to that pin as a possible project. Why not tackle it today? Keep in mind, I have sewn very little and and little to no supplies. You only live once, right?
Started to Google about how to get started and found some awesome how to videos on Youtube:
-Professor Pincushion (my favourite)
After getting into this idea more and more, realized I definitely need to go on a supply adventure. Found an adorable sewing shop called Fabrications Ottawa on Somerset and I’m about to head there now. Apparently they have a great supply of cool, funky fabric, as well as everything else I’ll need to make a quilt.
Onward and out!
